Kick-off meeting of AIXPERT Project: Paving the Way for Trustworthy, Explainable AI
Posted on: 13 June 2025We are proud to be part of AIXPERT, a newly launched Horizon Europe project that officially started in June and with a successful kickoff meeting on June 10 & 12, in Athens, Greece. Our team was represented by Cristian and Jorge, who joined partners from across Europe to begin this exciting new collaboration.
A New Approach to Trustworthy AI
Artificial intelligence is transforming industries and daily life — but to ensure its responsible adoption, AI must be transparent, explainable, and accountable. The AIXPERT project proposes a novel, architecture-agnostic AI-agentic platform that integrates multi-agent systems, multimodal foundation models, and real-time human feedback. This unique combination will enable AI systems that not only perform complex tasks but also remain understandable, ethical, and adaptable to user needs.
Throughout its development, AIXPERT will demonstrate real-world impact in several sectors, including healthcare, recruitment services, manufacturing, educational robotics, and creative industries.
BCN-AIM’s Role: Bringing User Needs to the Center
The University of Barcelona’s BCN-AIM Lab is leading Work Package 2 (WP2), focusing on requirements elicitation, system specifications, and participatory design. This work will ensure that the platform is built with a strong understanding of user needs, technical feasibility, and ethical considerations, creating a solid foundation for trustworthy and sustainable AI solutions.
Looking Ahead
We are excited to contribute to this ambitious European collaboration and help shape the future of AI technology that serves society in a transparent, accountable, and responsible way.
